HIDALGO, Texas - On Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 the RGV Killer Bees will be "Doing the Most Good" by ringing a bell for The Salvation Army to help raise money for the 2009 Red Kettle campaign.

The Salvation Army depends on the success of the Red Kettle campaign to be able to continue providing assistance to the community throughout the year. The money raised during the holidays is used to provide housing and food for the homeless as well as rental, mortgage, and utility assistance to those who are facing a hard financial situation.

Thanks to a successful Kettle campaign in 2008, The Salvation Army was able to raise over $163,000 to be used in the social services department in 2009. This year's goal of $170,000 is falling behind by $16,000 compared to last year at this same time. The support of the community to meet this goal is very important.

"The support of the Killer Bees this year has been amazing," said Major Dan Ford. "We hope that other organizations and companies partner with us during this Holiday season."

Look for Killer Bee players Nathan Ansell, Aaron Lee, Jesse Perrin, Sean Muncy, Stacey Bauman and Mike Harr ringing bells at Red Kettles this Thursday, Dec. 10, at La Plaza mall from noon-5 p.m.

Help The Salvation Army and your Killer Bees "Do the Most Good" this Holiday season!
