Moncton Wildcats News Release
A first period power play goal stood up for the Moncton Wildcats as they shut out PEI 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
Island native Randy Cameron scored at 5:27 of the first to put the Cats in front, Brandon Gormley and Markek Hrivik got the assisted. Ted Stephens made it 2-0 at 12:57 with Matt Bissonnette being the play maker.
The only goal in the middle frame came on a great give and go by Daniel Pettersson, he took a pass from Hrivik who had been sent down the right wing by Cameron at 19:57,
Shane Owen held the fort in the final period to record his first Q shut-out. The Rocket out shot the Wildcats 30 to 23, with half their shots in the third period.
On the power-play, the Cats were 1 for 2, the Rocket 0 for 4.
The three stars were Shane Owen star number one, Samson Mahbod of the Rocket the second star and Randy Cameron with a goal and assist got the third star.
