Orien Greene was the high man for the Flash scoring 25 points and adding seven rebounds. Dontell Jefferson went 3-3 from beyond the arc and ended the game with 24 points and seven assists. Andre Ingram scored 20 and Carlos Wheeler added 14.
The Wizards were led by Jason Straight and his 21 points. Romel Beck had 17 with David Bell and Curtis Withers adding 14 each.
SPURS RECALL MALIK HAIRSTON FROM AUSTIN TOROS
The San Antonio Spurs announced that they have recalled guard Malik Hairston from the Austin Toros, the NBA Development League team owned and operated by the Spurs. Hairston, who was assigned to Austin on 12/4, appeared in two games for the Toros, averaging 25.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 35.0 minutes.
PHOENIX'S GRIFFIN ASSIGNED TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE IOWA ENERGY
Phoenix Suns forward Taylor Griffin was assigned to the Iowa Energy, the Suns' NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment is the seventh of the 2009-10 NBA D-League season. Selected in the second round (48th overall) by the Phoenix Suns in the 2009 NBA Draft, Griffin has appeared in two regular season games for the Suns this year.
IDAHO'S GAINES, TOLLIVER NAMED NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE CO-PERFORMERS OF THE WEEK
Sundiata Gaines and Anthony Tolliver of the Idaho Stampede were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the first 10 days of the season. Gaines and Tolliver are the first players to earn the honor this season. The duo led Idaho to a 3-1 record, including two wins over the Reno Bighorns and one over the Dakota Wizards.
During the season's first four games, Gaines came off the bench to average a league-leading 27.0 points while shooting 60 percent (38-of-63) from the field. He also contributed 8.3 assists, ranking second in the NBA D-League, to go with 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 31.5 minutes per game. He scored a season-high 31 points in a win over the Bighorns on Nov. 28.
Tolliver, who started all four of Idaho's games, is averaging 23.8 points and 11.5 rebounds, both of which rank fifth in the NBA D-League, while shooting 52 percent (30-of-57) from the field. Tolliver connected on an NBA D-League season-high six three-pointers in his team's win over Reno on Nov. 30.
CARTIER MARTIN RETURNS TO IOWA ENERGY... Former Charlotte Bobcat Back in Des Moines
Former Iowa Energy standout Cartier Martin, who was the team' 1st round selection in the 2008 NBA D-League Draft and the first ever Energy player called-up to the NBA, has resigned with the team. He played the first 21 games for the Energy before being signed by the Charlotte Bobcats. Martin averaged 20.6 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Energy. After finishing the 2008-09 season with the Bobcats, Martin signed to play in Italy. He recently left that team to sign with the Energy.
To make room on the roster, the Energy released center Russell Hicks.
