November 30, 2009 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Indiana Ice

MAPQUEST ONE: The Ice went 2-1-0 for the first week of the team's longest road trip (seven games) of the season. Indy delivered victories over Lincoln and Cedar Rapids, before falling to Waterloo on Saturday night.

11/25 at LIN- Kevin Goumas and Bryon Paulazzo led the Ice with a goal and an assist apiece and Casey DeSmith stopped 25 shots in net in Indy's 3-2 win over the Lincoln Stars.

11/27 at CDR- Antti Roppo, Shane Berschbach and Nick Bailen provided the markers, while Cab Morris made 24 saves in the Ice's 3-2 victory over Cedar Rapids.

11/28 at WAT- Waterloo scored twice in the first and third periods to defeat the Ice 5-2....Adam Phillips and Max Cook were the goal scorers for the visiting Icemen.

LAND OF THE RISING ICE: Riding a 5-2-0 stretch, the Ice is rising to the top of the East as the club enters this week's action just two points behind Green Bay (25 pts) for first place in the division. Aiding in the climb has been their stellar play at home (6-1-0) and their record against their East division foes (8-2-0).

SURGING ICEMEN: Ice goaltender Cab Morris and forward Max Cook enter the first week of December on a pair of streaks. Morris has won four straight between the pipes and has posted a 1.71 GAA, one shutout and a.939 SV% during the stretch. Cook is riding a four-game point streak and is tied with teammate Bryon Paulazzo for the team points lead with 13.

PLAYER PRAISE: Bryon Paulazzo is third in the USHL in plus/minus (+15) and has points (2G, 3A) in four of his last five games....Cab Morris is first among goaltenders in SV% (.930) and second in GAA (1.86)...Adam Phillips scored his first USHL goal on Saturday in Waterloo.

TEAM CONFESSIONS: The Ice is 5-1-1 in one-goal games and 7-1-0 when outshooting their opponent....Indy is an even 5-5-1 on the road...The Ice is 7-1-0 when scoring first.

ALUMNI TRIBUTE: Three-point weekends included Mike Hull-Army (2005-07), Eddie Del Grosso-UNO (2004-06) and T.J. Syner-UMass (2007-08)...Two-goal weekends included Del Grosso and Loren Barron-Quinnipiac (2008-09)....Goaltender Jay Clark-Army (2005-06) went 2-0-0 and stopped 60 of 63 shots over the weekend.
