Louisiana IceGators News Release
Lafayette, LA. November 12, 2009. The Louisiana IceGators will host a toy drive tomorrow for the U.S. Army in honor of Veteran's Day.
In an effort to show their appreciation to current troops and soldiers who have served in the past, the IceGators are offering $5 off regular admission to tomorrow's game in exchange for toys. The toys will be delivered to children of U.S. soldiers during the holiday season. New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off at the main entrance of Blackham Coliseum before the game.
Soldiers from the Lafayette Company U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) will be present along with the GatorGirls to collect toys before the game. The USAREC has over 30 current soldiers and a few civilians that serve all areas from Calcasieu Parish to Terrebonne Parish.
Tomorrow, the Louisiana IceGators will face-off with the Fayetteville FireAntz at Blackham Coliseum. The game starts at 7:05 p.m.
