Mississauga's power play woes continued in the opening period, highlighted by Brett Flemming ringing one off the post early in the contest. Jordan Mayer got the Majors on the board just past the half-way mark of the period. Tyler Taylor responded for the Bulls on a one-timer from Stephen Silas and Andy Bathgate to even the game at 1-1 and end the first.
