GM Griffith Promoted To Vice President

October 30, 2009 - Carolina League (CarL) Potomac Nationals

WOODBRIDGE, Va- Though Minor League Baseball is seemingly all about roster turnover, whether it be with the players on the field or the staff in the front office, occasionally you find a person that can stick in a certain position for an extended period of time.

The Potomac Nationals announced today that General Manager Jonathan Griffith's role has been expanded within the organization, adding the role of Vice President to go along with his everyday duties as the GM.

The 2010 season will be Griffith's fourth with the Potomac Nationals, as he was signed on before the 2007 campaign. Griffith previously held jobs with the Richmond Braves and the Kinston Indians.

Since joining the P-Nats organization, Griffith has overseen some of the most celebrated moments in the history of baseball at Pfitzner Stadium, highlighted by the team's Mills Cup Championship in the 2008 season.

The team also celebrated a season-record attendance at Pfitzner Stadium in 2009 as 180,541 fans strolled through the gates to watch their P-Nats, including a single-game mark of 10,789 attendees on July 4.

In addition to the success on the baseball field, the P-Nats have been just as strong off it. The Potomac Nationals have been major players in the Northern Virginia region, putting their hands into many community service adventures, including the Uncle Slam Reading Program, where the team's mascot travels to local elementary schools to teach kids the importance of reading, and donating over $20,000 to area non-profit organizations in 2009.

It takes a team effort to make a successful baseball team both on and off the field, and Griffith has presided over some of the most successful in franchise history.

2010 Season Tickets and Mini-Plans are now available, check out the websites ticket pages or call (703) 590-2311 to find out more information.
