Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash - The Everett AquaSox and Everett Public Schools are pleased to announce an extension of their current license agreement for use of the baseball facilities at Everett Memorial Stadium. The new extension, which was approved by the Everett School Board on October 6th, 2009, assures that Everett Memorial Stadium will remain home to the AquaSox through at least the end of the 2017 season.
"Over the years, the AquaSox have been incredibly valuable school district and community partners," noted Mike Gunn, the school district's Executive Director of Facilities and Operations. "Not only do their games benefit the local economy and provide recreational activities, the facility improvements they make possible give our students a play field that meets the highest standards."
Everett Memorial Stadium, which is owned by Everett Public Schools has been home to the team since it moved to Everett in 1984. Over the years the stadium has undergone numerous improvements, making it one of the top ballparks in the Northwest League. In addition to AquaSox baseball, the facility is also used by numerous school district and community programs throughout the year.
7th Inning Stretch, LLC, which has owned and operated the ballclub since November 2008, has also invested in the ballpark over their first year, with the addition of a new state of the art video board as well as updated concessions and ticketing systems.
"We are very appreciative of our relationship with Everett Public Schools and look forward to continuing that for many years to come," said 7th Inning Stretch, LLC President Pat Filippone. "The support of the Everett community and everyone throughout Snohomish County has been tremendous, and we are excited to be a part of that for the foreseeable future," added Filippone.
The AquaSox will begin their 2010 Northwest League season in mid June. For more information regarding the upcoming season, including Season Tickets and Group Outing information, please visit www.AquaSox.com.
