Potomac Nationals News Release
WOODBRIDGE, Va- With the 2009 season completely wrapped up, it is now time to set our sights on the 2010 campaign, and with that being said, the final 2010 schedule has been announced for the Potomac Nationals.
The team begins their mission to make it back to the postseason on Thursday, April 8 as the team hosts the Southern Division Champion Salem Red Sox for the beginning of a four-game series.
There will be a little quirk that goes into the majority of home games at Pfitzner Stadium this season; one with a bit of Northern Virginia flavor to it.
To stay true to the 703 area code given to most residents of the Prince William County and its surrounding areas, all evening home games at Pfitzner Stadium in 2010 will begin with a start time of exactly 7:03 ET.
The P-Nats are the only team in Minor League baseball who will have that scheduled start time in 2010.
The only exceptions will be day games, which will generally begin at 1:05 ET, and Saturday contests which maintain their 2009 start time of 6:35 ET.
The Potomac Nationals will also host a Memorial Day contest on May 31 with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 ET.
After the P-Nats held a single-game record crowd of 10,789 on July 4, 2009, the team hopes to see a similar turnout for the 2010 edition as the P-Nats will welcome their Northern Division rival Wilmington Blue Rocks to Pfitzner Stadium for an Independence Day battle.
Some other notable dates in the 2010 season include:
April 13-15
The P-Nats make their first trip to Winston-Salem's brand-new Downtown Ballpark to take on the Dash.
April 23-25
The 2009 Carolina League Champion Lynchburg Hillcats make their initial visit to Pfitzner Stadium.
June 22
The Carolina-California League All-Star game will take place with the Carolina League hosting the game in 2010.
July 3
In honor of our country's 234th birthday, there will be a spectacular fireworks extravaganza after the P-Nats host the Blue Rocks with first pitch set for 6:35 ET.
September 4-6
The P-Nats wrap up the regular season with a three-game series against the Kinston Indians.
