Jackals Players Receive Opportunity To Succeed At Next Level

Nine players contracted by the Elmira Jackals are scheduled to participate in an American Hockey League (AHL) exhibition game tonight with the Binghamton Senators, the Jackals' AHL affiliate.
The Senators host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Broome Community College Ice Center in Binghamton at 7:30 PM. The game will provide a chance for Jackals players to participate at an advanced level in preparation for the upcoming season.
As an ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL) and Binghamton of the AHL, the Jackals have a partnership that affords players the chance to move up to the next level of competition at any point during a given season.
The nine players contracted by Elmira scheduled to participate in tonight's game are forwards Colton Yellow Horn, Tim Spencer, Brett Gallant, Brendan Connolly, defensemen Jean-Francois David, Wes Cunningham, Travis Gawryletz, Brennan Turner and goaltender David Brown, a Hobey Baker award finalist in 2007.
These players have been participating in Binghamton's training camp since the first on-ice session began on Wednesday, September 16. Volunteer photographer Mike Gurnsey snapped photos of the Senators' on-ice session on Friday, September 18.
"It's a great opportunity for these players to not only show what they can do on the ice, but to get a head start on the upcoming season," Elmira Jackals Head Coach Steve Martinson said.
