
Bighorns, Boys & Girls Club to Host Youth Fit Challenge and Back to School Camp

WHO: Children of all ages and skill levels
WHAT: The Reno Bighorns Back to School Camp, open to all ages and skill levels. The camp will provide training in all facets of the game, including conditioning, rebounding, ball movement, court vision and full-court play. Instructors will also teach campers lessons in leadership, motivation and the mental side of the game. There is a registration fee of $75. Campers are also invited to participate in a Youth Fit Challenge, to be held immediately prior to the start of camp. This offers kids a chance to show off their fitness skills, with the winners receiving prizes and a chance to participate in the regional competition.
WHY: Camps such as those hosted by The Reno Bighorns, the NBA and the NBA Development League at the Boys & Girls of Truckee Meadows help further the Club's goal of making positive impacts on the lives of children by creating better, more healthy lifestyles. These programs also help Club kids gain experience in two of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows' five core program areas, which are education and career development, character and leadership development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, fitness and recreation.
