Philadelphia Wings News Release
The Philadelphia Wings have announced that forwards Mat Giles and Dan Teat will receive the team's franchise player tags for the 2010 season. National Lacrosse League teams are permitted to declare up to two players as franchise players. By doing so, teams ensure that the player(s) who would have qualified for unrestricted free agency remains with their current team for the 2010 season.
Giles, who was originally acquired in the Chicago Shamrox dispersal draft, led the Wings in overall scoring in 2009 with 70 points (23G 47A). He has scored 174 goals, 193 assists, and picked up 603 loose balls in his 145 games played.
Teat, who was acquired from Edmonton in exchange for Derek Malawsky on July 29, led the Rush in scoring during the 2009 season with 69 points (28G 41A). He has scored 283 goals, 311 assists, and picked up 716 loose balls in 185 career games played.
