SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The novelty of a walk-off victory Friday night faded fast for Inland Empire, as the 66ers were crushed by High Desert, 15-2, Saturday night.

Mavericks starting pitcher Nathan Adcock (5-3, 3.70) was impressive on the mound, throwing 8 innings of 2-hit shutout baseball, striking out 8 batters and walking 4.

Josh Wall (0-3, 6.16) was tagged for the loss for the Sixers pitching 4 innings, striking out 4 of the Mavs and giving up 6 earned runs. The 66ers bullpen also struggled against the High Desert hitters, giving up 9 runs in the ninth inning.

Mavericks left fielder Jamie McOwen extended his hitting streak to 31 games Saturday, going 1-for-4 with a single and 2 RBI.

Joe Dunigan, Alex Liddi, and Travis Scott each had three hits on the night for High Desert as the trio went a combined 9-for-14 with 9 RBI, four coming on Dunigan's grand slam in the ninth.

Dunigan has now hit nine of his 17 home runs and has 20 RBIs in 11 games against Inland Empire.

The 15 runs allowed were the most this season by Inland Empire and the 13-run margin was the largest margin of defeat for the 66ers this season. The nine-run inning was also the most allowed in a single inning by the Sixers.

Inland Empire (31-38) will finish its homestand against the Mavericks (43-26) on a Father's Day Sunday, with the first pitch of the first-half finale at 1:05 p.m. In celebration of all the Dads, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free fishing pole, compliments of San Bernardino County Regional Parks. Sunday is also Family Fun Day, where fans can purchase up to 5 Bullpen Box tickets for only $10.
