Fan Favorite Ernie Hartlieb Returns to Everblades

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that forward Ernie Hartlieb has signed a contract for the 2009-10 season. Hartlieb becomes the first player signed by the Everblades for the upcoming season.

Head coach Malcolm Cameron can't say enough of what attributes Hartlieb brings to the Everblades, "Ernie had a tremendous season for us this year. He is a veteran player that brings a lot to this organization on and off the ice. His leadership in the locker room and his involvement in the community make him invaluable to the Florida Everblades."

The Warren, Michigan native appeared in 70 games with the Everblades last season and tallied 21 goals and 54 points with 62 minutes in penalties. In addition, the 30-year-old winger scored two goals and three assists in 11 playoff games in the 2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs. In total in the regular season and playoffs, Hartlieb has appeared in 327 games scored 84 goals and 161 assists for 245 points and accumulated 266 PIMs in an Everblades sweater.

"I am happy to be back in Florida. The fans and the community have been great to me over the years and I would love to fulfill our goal of bringing a championship to Southwest Florida," commented Hartlieb on his signing.

The nine-year veteran has scored 128 career goals and added 236 assists for 364 points in 541 games. Prior to turning pro, Hartlieb spent four seasons with Miami (Ohio) University, where he scored 55 points (20g, 35a) in 116 career games.
