Goldberg, 23, was drafted by the Mets in the 36th round of the 2008 amateur draft from the College of Charleston. In 12 appearances with the GCL Mets, Goldberg was 1-4 with a 7.52 ERA. He struck out 29 batters in 26.1 innings while walking six. He was born and still currently resides in Charleston, S.C.

Powers, 23, makes his second appearance in Georgia's First City as the Michigan product was called to Savannah near the end of last season. In three games with the Sand Gnats, Powers was 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA. The Mets drafted Powers in the 32nd round of the 2008 draft out of the University of Michigan.

With the addition of Powers and Goldberg, Erik Turgeon has been assigned to Extended Spring Training. Turgeon was 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA with three saves in 10 outings with Savannah.
