
Grasshoppers Hold Off Greenville Rally to Claim 4-3 win

Greenville, SC - Greensboro plated four runs on four hits in the top of the second inning and held off a Greenville rally to give the Grasshoppers a 4-3 victory over the Drive in the second game of a four-game series at Fluor Field.
Justin Bass drove in the first Greensboro run in the second with a single to left field that scored Kyle Skipworth. Isaac Galloway lined a single to centerfield to plate Bass and Brandon Turner to stretch the lead to 3-0. The final Grasshopper run in the frame came when Daniel Pertusati singled to center field to score Galloway.
Greenville rallied for two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when David Marks blasted a two-run home run to right center field that plated Pete Hissey. The Drive's other run came in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Ryan Lavarnway sacrifice fly that brought Anthony Rizzo home.
Greenville managed to put the two on base in the ninth inning with one out before Grasshopper reliever Jared Yecker closed the game to earn his second save of the season.
Greensboro starter Kyle Kaminska earned the victory for the Grasshoppers going five innings to raise his season record to 1-1. Greenville starter Yeiper Castillo (0-1) shouldered the loss, giving up four runs on four hits in three innings of work
The Drive and Grasshoppers continue their four-game series tomorrow with first pitch at Fluor Field set for 4:05 PM. Right-hander Brock Huntzinger will toe the rubber for Greenville as Greensboro counters with right-hander Jose Rosario.
Opening Week, presented by Carolina First, continues Sunday with Family FunDay at Fluor Field. There will be plenty going on as it is Bark in the Park, Reggy "The Purple Party Dude" will once again be entertaining the crowd, and children 12 and under get to run the bases at the conclusion of the game.
