Rochester Rhinos News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rhinos announced today that they are continuing their partnership with Clear Channel radio and Country 107.3 FM as the flagship radio station for all Rhinos radio broadcasts during the 2009 season.
New play-by-play broadcaster Joe Giuliano will team up with USL Hall of Fame Head Coach and former Rhinos head man Pat Ercoli who will serve as guest commentator in 2009. After providing in-game analysis for the past eleven seasons, Giuliano will move into the play-by-play seat for his 12th season on the Rhinos radio network. In addition to his previous analyst role, Giuliano has been the host of the Rhinos pregame show as well as postgame call-in show. He has also worked on Fox Soccer Channel's USL Game of the Week.
"Pat and I are excited to work together. With Pat's impressive soccer background, he will add another dimension to the Rhinos Radio and TV broadcasts" said Giuliano. Being the first and obviously most successful coach in Rhinos history, I feel bringing Pat on board for radio and television broadcasts will make us one of the best soccer broadcasts in the league".
Ercoli, who led the Rhinos to four championships during his nine seasons at the helm will join the broadcast team for the first time on select radio broadcasts . Ercoli, was the original head coach of the Rhinos, posting 192 total wins during his tenure including four straight over Major League Soccer teams en route to the 1999 U.S. Open Cup title. Ercoli, a Greece resident, was elected to the inaugural USL Hall of Fame class in 2002.
"I am excited to join Joe in working on the Rhinos broadcasts this season" said Ercoli. "I look forward to being able to bring my experience to the broadcast booth this season."
In addition to live match coverage, Country 107.3 FM will carry the "Pre-Game Report", a live half-hour pre-game show hosted by Giuliano and post-game call-in show, also hosted by Giuliano and "Soccer" Sam Fantauzzo. All matches, including the pre and post-game shows will also be streamed live on the world wide web at www.mycountryfm.com.
"Joe is one of the most experienced soccer broadcasters in the country" said Rhinos President Business Development Salvatore Fantauzzo. He has always brought great insight to the game as an analyst and now he will do the same from the play-by-play seat. Having Part Ercoli, the most accomplished head coach in the history of our league be a part of our broadcast, is something that is a dream come true for Rochester soccer fans.
