DURHAM, NC - The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball announced today that Grand Prairie AirHogs RHP Geivy Garcia has been sold to the San Francisco Giants. Garcia is the sixth American Association player purchased by a major league organization since the conclusion of the 2008 season.

The Dominican Republic native went 2-1 for the AirHogs with an ERA of 2.60 and two saves. In 34 2/3 innings pitched, Garcia walked 20 batters and struck out 40. He also held opponents to a batting average of only .187. The 26-year-old spent the first part of the 2008 season with the Edinburg Coyotes of the United League.
