Dayton Dragons News Release
Dayton, Ohio-Dayton Dragons third baseman Neftali Soto was recognized today among the top prospects in the Midwest League this season by Baseball America, the trade publication for minor league baseball.
Despite spending less than two months in the league and not joining the Dragons until July 6th, Soto gained enough attention to be selected as the league's 10th best prospect. Baseball America announced its annual list of top-20 Midwest League prospects today.
Soto, just 19 years old, played in 52 games for the Dragons and batted .326 with seven home runs and 36 runs batted in. He added 15 doubles and one triple in 218 at-bats with the Dragons. Soto's 13-game hitting streak from August 15-28 tied for the fourth longest in Dragons history. He also had a 12-game hitting streak from July 28-August 9.
Baseball America named Burlington third baseman Mike Moustakas as the league's top prospect.
