Crunch to Play in Second Annual Shapiro Motor Sales of Oswego Classic

Syracuse, NY (September 9, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they will participate in the second annual Shapiro Motor Sales of Oswego Classic, a preseason game at the Oswego State Campus Center Ice Arena on Friday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Binghamton

The Shapiro Motor Sales of Oswego Classic will be the second of three contests for the Crunch during the preseason before opening their 15th AHL season at Rochester on Friday, October 10.

The Crunch's complete preseason schedule is as follows:

October 2 - Rochester @ Syracuse - War Memorial at Oncenter - 7:00 p.m.

October 3 - Binghamton @ Syracuse - Oswego State Campus Center Ice Arena - 7:00 p.m.

October 4 - Syracuse @ Binghamton - Broome County Veterans Memorial

Arena - 7:05 p.m.

Ticket information for the October 2 preseason game will be announced at a later date. Tickets for the Shapiro Motor Sales of Oswego Classic vs. Binghamton at the Oswego State Campus Center Ice Arena are currently on sale and can be purchased for $10 each at the Oswego State Box Office or by calling (315) 312-3073. The Oswego State Box Office is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Oswego State Campus Center Ice Arena opened in October of 2006 and is home to the 2007 Division III Men's Ice Hockey National Champion Oswego State Lakers.

The Crunch open their 15th AHL season with a home-and-home series against their I-90 rivals, the Rochester Americans. The teams will face-off at the Blue Cross Arena on Friday, October 10, followed by the Crunch's home opener at the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets are available by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444.
