Portes connected on his third career grand slam, setting a new franchise record, while belted his third-walk off homer this season, second with the money ball.

Scoreless through 8.5 innings on Friday, Johnny Woodard led off with a walk against the Yankees right-hander Philip Bartleski. After Danny Lehmann sacrificed Woodard to second with a bunt before pinch-hitters Edward Ovalle and Rene Tosoni were both sent to first on the free pass. After a Tampa meeting on the mound, Portes took the first pitch fastball from Bartleski and promptly ended the contest.
