Camden Riversharks News Release
CAMDEN, NJ - The Bridgeport Bluefish came into Camden with a sour taste in their mouths. The Riversharks had little trouble sweeping last series, and the Fish came seeking revenge. They won the second game of the series Wednesday night.
Bridgeport pitching owned the spotlight. All-star hurler Barry Hertzler (8-7) allowed just four hits on course to the complete game shutout.
The Fish took the lead in the first on a two-run homer from first baseman Jesse Hoorelbeke. Camden starter Kevin Mannix has had trouble solving Bridgeport hitting in two previous starts, and Wednesday was no different.
They added an insurance run in the eighth. Shortstop Alex Prieto reached on a fielding error and advanced when third baseman Luis Lopez walked. Hoorelbeke struck out, but both runners advanced on a hit-and-run that resulted in a throwing error in the rundown.
Hertzler earned the victory; Mannix (2-11) earned the loss.
The series concludes Thursday morning at 9:05 a.m. Free coffee for anyone who redeyes over to Campbell's Field. It's Breakfast and Baseball Day! Tickets are available at www.riversharks.com or by calling 1-866-SHARKS-9.
