Newark Bears News Release

It's that time again: school is about to start and the Newark Bears want every child to have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. That's why the Bears are proud to host Bags for Brick City, a book bag drive benefiting the Newark Renaissance House.

The Bears will be collecting book bags until September 12th, when they host Back to School Night at the Den. Book bags can be dropped off at the Bears Ticket Office, and in exchange, participants will receive a free ticket to any remaining Bears game in the 2008 season. On September 12th, the book bags will be donated to the Newark Renaissance House and given to the program's children and adolescents.

Newark Renaissance House is a multifaceted non-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive services to those most often overlooked in Newark's communities: pregnant women, women with children, and adolescents.

The Bears Ticket Office is open from 10:00 to 6:00 on Monday through Friday, and 10:00 to 2:00 on Saturdays. On game days, the Ticket Office is open from 10:00 to 15 minutes after the game ends.

The Bears play their home games at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium, conveniently located off Route 280, across the street from the Newark-Broad St. train station, and minutes from Route 78 and the New Jersey Turnpike. For ticket information, please call 1-866-55-4BEAR or visit the Bears' website at www.newarkbears.com.
