Real Salt Lake News Release
RSL Gets Back to Action Saturday with Showdown at Houston Dynamo
After an 18-day break between League games, Real Salt Lake (7-6-6, 27 pts.) will jump back into the fray with a crucial road contest this Saturday, August 16, when RSL will travel to the Lone Star State to defend its first-place standing in the Western Conference against the second-place Houston Dynamo (6-4-8, 26 pts.). Kick-off from Robertson Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. MT, but fans can get ready for the battle for Western Conference supremacy by tuning into the KSL 5.3 Digital broadcast (Comcast Ch. 105) at 6:00 p.m. for the America First Credit Union Pre-game Show. RSL fans will also be able to follow the action live via the team's official radio partners: KALL 700 Sports (with RSL First Kick pre-game coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m.) and "Ke Buena" 1600-AM.
Saturday's match will conclude the brief, two-game series between Real Salt Lake and Houston in 2008, which began with a fiercely-contested 0-0 draw in the ESPN2 Primetime Thursday game of the week back on July 3. While that result brought Salt Lake's career record against the Dynamo to 2-4-2, the Utah side will still be looking to bring back its first points away from Robertson Stadium this Saturday after dropping its previous three contests at the Dynamo's home on the campus of the University of Houston.
Brewvies to Host RSL-Houston Viewing Party Saturday Evening
While the weather for the weekend in Houston calls for temperatures in the 90's, humidity in the 80's and thunderstorms, you can feel free to enjoy this Saturday's Real Salt Lake-Houston match with your fellow RSL fans in complete comfort at Brewvies, which will once again host the Official RSL Watch Party for this weekend's first-place fight in Texas. Brewvies, located at 677 S. 200 West in Salt Lake City, will open up the restaurant portion of the venue - which features four flat screen televisions, video games and pool tables - beginning at 6:00 p.m. MT on Saturday, when KSL 5.3 Digital's pre-game coverage will lead into the 6:30 p.m. kick-off from Robertson Stadium.
RSL Reserves Face Good Old-fashioned Shootout for First Place with Houston
The Real Salt Lake Reserves (4-1-1, 13 pts.) will look to follow the first-team's example by taking sole possession atop the MLS Reserve Division's Western Conference standings when they take on the co-leading Houston Dynamo Reserves (4-1-1, 13 pts.) this Sunday, August 17, at the Carl Lewis Track Field at the University of Houston Campus (9:00 a.m. MT kick-off). The two squads met earlier this season in Park City on July 4, when RSL - currently riding a three-game winning streak in Reserve play - started the holiday fireworks off early via a 5-3 victory. Sunday's match will feature a battle of the MLS Reserve Division's leading scorers, as RSL striker Yura Movsisyan and former Salt Lake forward and current Houston striker Kyle Brown are tied with six goals apiece heading into the first-place showdown.
Real Salt Lake to Host Mexican Side U.A.N.L. Tigres for Sept. 3 Friendly at Rice-Eccles
Real Salt Lake has announced that the Major League Soccer side will play host to Mexican Primera División squad Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (U.A.N.L) - also known as Tigres - in an international exhibition on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Kick-off for what will serve as RSL's final exhibition contest during its tenure at Rice-Eccles Stadium is slated for 8:00 p.m. MT. Tickets for the RSL-Tigres contest are now on sale at all UTIX outlets, by phone at (801) 581-UTIX, and online at www.utahtickets.com. Tickets for the contest are $30 (Corner/Goal), $45 (Premium) and $60 (VIP), with a $5 discount in each seating area applicable to each ticket bought as part of a group of 20 or more. RSL Royal Club members should use "Bonus Ticket A" from their season ticket package.
Tigres, which has begun its 2008 Apertura campaign with a 2-0-1 record, will be the third Mexican top flight side to square off against Real Salt Lake in exhibition play, with RSL previously taking on Monarcas Morelia in July of 2006 and, more recently, Club Santos Laguna on July 9. The match against U.A.N.L. will mark Real Salt Lake's third international exhibition date in 2008, as RSL fell to Santos and Costa Rican power Deportivo Saprissa during friendlies contested in July. Those results brought Real Salt Lake's all-time record against international competition to an even 4-4-2 across its first four seasons of play.

Chris Seitz's Olympic Diary Continues on RSL's Behind the Shield Blog
The United States Men's Olympic Team is raising some eyebrows with its first two results over in China, and Real Salt Lake's own Chris Seitz is giving his first-hand perspective of the Olympic Games through his exclusive dispatches to RSL's official team blog, Behind the Shield, located at www.RSLtotheCore.com. Seitz has sat patiently behind starting netminder Brad Guzan in the USA's first two Group B contests - a 1-0 win over Japan and a thrilling 2-2 draw with group favorite Holland - but remains at the ready to step in if called upon in the team's final and decisive pool contest against Nigeria, set to take place Wednesday morning at 3:00 a.m. MT (live on USA Network & NBC Olympic Soccer Channel). After playing their first two matches in Tianjin, the USA squad has moved to the heart of the Summer Games in Beijing, where the Red-White-and-Blue will take on Nigeria's Super Eagles at Workers Stadium. The U.S. is in the driver's seat in Group B, as a win or draw against Nigeria will secure first place in the group, while a Netherlands loss to Japan would also see the USA advance as at least the group's second-place finisher.
Behind the Shield isn't the only way to follow Seitz's Olympic journey through China, as the RSL netminder caught up with KSL-TV's Amanda Butterfield for a segment that will air on the local NBC affiliate's nightly Olympic Zone program this evening at 6:30 p.m. MT.
