National Indoor Bowl Championship Game Preview

Omaha, NE - After a 15-week regular season, three weeks of playoffs and the second All-Star game, United Indoor Football will close its fourth season this weekend. The UIF champion, the Sioux Falls Storm, will host the champion of the Intense Football League, the Louisiana Swashbucklers, in the first-ever National Indoor Bowl Championship game to be played tomorrow evening at the Sioux Falls Arena.

LOUISIANA SWASHBUCKLERS (16-0) vs. SIOUX FALLS STORM (13-3)

Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central

The United Bowl champion Sioux Falls Storm will host the Intense Bowl champion Louisiana Swashbucklers in the National Indoor Bowl Championship game. The match-up will be the first-ever between the two teams. In their last action, the Storm won United Bowl IV, defeating the Bloomington Extreme 40-35 on July 12th. Offensively, Bryant tallied 111 yards of total offense (two rushing and 109 passing) while also having a hand in two touchdowns (one rushing and one passing). Fields tallied a team-high 10 tackles, a pass break up and also returned a blocked field goal 30 yards for a touchdown. Louisiana comes to Sioux Falls having defeated the Corpus Christi Hammerheads 66-35 Monday evening in Intense Bowl IV. Leading the way for the Swashbucklers were quarterback Alvin Bartie and the team's defense. Bartie tallied 244 yards of total offense (eight rushing and 236 passing) and also threw for eight touchdowns. The Swashbucklers' defense tallied two tackles for loss and a sack, intercepted three passes, broke up five more and recovered three fumbles (one returned for a touchdown).
