Schaumburg, IL - Former Flyer LHP R.J. Swindle was called up to the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday evening. Swindle joins the team from Phillies Triple-A affiliate Lehigh Valley, where he went 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA in 18 games.

Originally drafted by the Red Sox in 2004, Swindle joined the Flyers roster in 2005 where he went 6-4 with 102 strikeouts. In 2006, Swindle's contract was bought by the New York Yankees and he was assigned to their single-A affiliate, the Charleston Riverdogs.

Ziegler earned his first major league win on June 8th, pitching 1 2/3 hitless innings against the Angels. Ziegler pitched two perfect innings for the A's on Tuesday and has not allowed an earned run in 14 appearances and 15 innings.
