Edmonton Chill News Release
For the third time this season the Edmonton Chill were able to erase a 20 point defecit and come away with a win. This time it resulted in the team's tenth straight home win as they closed out the home portion of their regular season schedule with a 133-130 win over the Vancouver Volcanoes.
The Chill were the agressors early as they built a small 10-5 lead in the opening minutes, but it was clear that Vancouver would not go lightly on this Saturday night. The Volcanoes begun to erupt from the outside as their three point shots began to fall and they surged ahead to take 41-30 lead after the opening quarter. The shots continued to fall for both sides as the second quarter unfolded and the sharpshooting of Alex Hartman (31 points) and Brad Lechtenberg (28 points) helped the visitors open up a 20 point lead with two minutes to go in the half before the recently arrived Jeff Dunn found the range. He led a late surge by the home side as the half ended to close to 75-65.

The final twelve minutes saw furious action up and down the court with Edmonton constantly trying to catch up but never able to take the lead as the Volcanoes always had an answer for an Chill surge. Still, the boys in white and red would not be denied and after playing for a minute tied at 111 they surged ahead on a three pointer from JR Patrick. Vancouver was able to answer once more though and the game again was tied at 130. The Chill had a couple of chances to go ahead but would have to do it from the line as Rashaun Broadus hit a free throw to go ahead 131-130. Jeff Dunn would sink two more free ones to get to the final total.
JR Patrick paced the Chill with 30 points and Jeff Dunn (28) and Rashaun Broadus (23) also breached the 20 point barrier. Achuil Lual played his best game as a member of the Chill, scoring 10 points and collecting a team season high 17 boards. Broadus also added six assists.
