
Sun To Hold Additional Audition For Solar Power Dance Team

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (March 20, 2008) - The Connecticut Sun will hold an additional preliminary audition for a diverse group of male and female dancers to make up the 2008 Solar Power Dance Team. The audition for this diverse group, which in addition to dancing at all home games is also involved in numerous promotional events, will be held on Sunday, April 6th at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center.
Registration for the preliminary round will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the audition scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and run until 4 p.m. All dancers must pay a $20 non-refundable registration fee to participate.
The final round of auditions will begin with an interview on Friday, April 11th and will conclude on Sunday, April 13th with a final dance audition, which is open to the public. The final round of auditions will be held in the Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun.
The Solar Power Dance Team auditions are open to male and female dancers who are 18 years of age or older by March 1, 2008. Candidates must have previous dance training and experience in jazz and hip-hop. They must be able to commit to scheduled practices, Sun home games, playoffs, photo shoots and community events. Candidates must provide a 5x7 headshot (which won't be returned) and a current dance resume.
Participants must wear dance sneakers or tennis shoes with non-marking soles, and have performance-ready hair and makeup.
