Silverbacks Name Allen GM

January 27, 2008 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) Dayton Silverbacks

The Miami Valley Silverbacks professional indoor football team has promoted head coach Carl Allen to General Manager. Allen, who has been with the team since its inception, will also continue in his role as the head coach of the Silverbacks.

Last season, Allen led the Silverbacks to their first appearance in the Continental Indoor Football League playoffs after Matthew King was promoted to President.

"This is a good move for the future of the Miami Valley Silverbacks," King said. "Carl is a very hard working and loyal person and has earned the promotion. "With Carl handling the day-to-day operations of the organization, it allows me the time which is needed to secure the future successes of the Silverbacks." The Silverbacks are preparing for their third season at historic Hobart Arena in Troy, making them the longest running professional indoor football team in the Miami Valley.

Miami Valley will kick off the season at home on March 15 when they host the New Jersey Revolution. Season tickets are still on sale through the end of February by calling 718-7044.
