MUSKEGON - Former Detroit Red Wings forward Darren McCarty is scheduled to make his debut with the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League Wednesday against the Muskegon Fury at L.C. Walker Arena.
McCarty, who played 11 seasons with the Red Wings before signing with the Calgary Flames before the 2005-06 season, has not played yet this season with any team. He last played with the Flames during the '06-07 season, where he went pointless in 32 games. During his NHL career, he played 742 games, scoring 126 goals and 160 assists while amassing 1,450 penalty minutes.
The Fury and the Generals face off at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday as part of Education Day at Walker Arena.
