Halifax Rainmen News Release
(Halifax, N.S.) The Halifax Rainmen added 6'0" Bishopville South Carolina point guard Lantrice Green to their active roster effective today, December 4.
Green attended Virginia Union University where he played along side Rainmen forward Kadiri Richard. During his four-year stint at University, Lantrice won three conference titles and one national title.
After his university career, Lantrice entered the ABA and played for the Atlanta Vision where he averaged 16 points per game and 7 assists. Since then, Lantrice has been working out with the New York Knicks who were very interested in him but had already committed to a full roster.
"Lantrice is the type of point guard that plays with explosiveness and can easily take over a game," said Rainmen owner Andre Livingston. "Out of our last three games, we have lost by a total of 10 points, and two of those games were in overtime. We feel that Lantrice is the type of player that can get us over the hump and bring a raw style of play to our team."
The Rainmen also announced this morning that point guard, Hardy Riley has been released.
The Rainmen are back in action this coming Friday December 7th, when they host the Montreal Royal at 7:15pm at the Halifax Metro Centre.
The Rainmen have also announced that this Friday is Family Night. The buy one ticket and receive one free promotion was created to show appreciation for families and communities. Fans are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item in support of Feed Nova Scotia, helping families across our province have an enjoyable holiday season.
