Delaware ABA teams releases name and logo

September 6, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) First State Fusion

Dover, DE. The Delaware ABA team made it official: The team will be called the "First State Fusion."

The organization recently held a "Name Your Team" contest in which the local public was asked for their support in helping to give Delaware's newest professional sports organization a name. The contest winner is slated to receive many firsts including an official production jersey as well as the 13th man roster spot for the inaugural home game. The Fusion would like to thank all those who participated in the contest. Majority owner Winters Rogers stated, "As we embark on the inaugural year for the First State Fusion, we are looking forward to doing just what our name implies. We realize that when we fuse together the local community and this organization, once joined together, we are much stronger together than apart. Working with the local schools and community programs to press the need to stay in school and obtain a good education as well as working skills that will help our youth become more marketable in the business world is as important to us as a team as playing basketball."

Also being placed on display for the very first time is the team's logo. The logo incorporates the traditional red, white and blue basketball that has become a symbol of the ABA over the years.

The Fusion will tip-off their inaugural season early November 2007. All home games are planned to be played at Memorial Hall Gym on the campus of Delaware State University in Dover, DE. The Fusion and the ABA are committed to providing family-friendly, exciting professional basketball at affordable prices. "The team name Fusion is very important to us, and we want everyone to understand that once fused together, we all become stronger than we once were. It is a joining of two or more different elements to become one GREAT item." For more information, visit www.delawareaba.com or www.abalive.com or call 610 220 2737 or 302 745 2549.
