Houston Aeros agree to terms with C Troy Riddle

HOUSTON, Texas - The American Hockey League's Houston Aeros have agreed to terms with center Troy Riddle for the 2007-08 season, the team announced Wednesday. Riddle, a fourth-round selection by the St. Louis Blues in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, has spent the last seven years playing in the NCAA, ECHL and AHL.

Riddle, 25 (8/24/81), played in 68 games last season for the Trenton Titans of the ECHL ranking third on the team in goals (28), assists (37) and points (65). Riddle tied for a team-high six game winning goals and also marked 60 PIM during the regular season. He also was tied for a team leading five points (3-2=5) in five playoff games.

Riddle split the 2005-06 season between the ECHL's Alaska Aces and AHL Peoria totaling 26 points (13-13=26) in 62 games. He also spent time with the AHL's Worcester IceCats and ECHL's Peoria Rivermen in 2004-05.

The Minneapolis, Minn., native played four years (2000-04) with the NCAA's Minnesota Golden Gophers and won back-to-back national championships with the team in '03 and '04. Riddle ranked second in goals (24) and points (49) in his senior season with the Gophers and ranked second in points (51) in his junior year. He was named USHL Rookie of the Year while with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the 1999-00 season.
