Orlando Titans News Release

The New York Titans of the National Lacrosse League played their second home game at the Garden on Friday, February 17 and were defeated in the final minute of play by the Minnesota Swarm 15-14 in a physical match-up. The Titans play Minnesota twice this weekend in a home-and-home series.

The Titans game against Minnesota at the Garden Friday marked the first time Titans Head Coach Adam Mueller played his former team. Mueller was the assistant coach for the Swarm when it first joined the league in 2005 and became Head Coach of the Swarm last season, when he led the club to an 8-8 record and to the playoffs for the first time in team history.

"Minnesota will be a good test for us this weekend," Mueller said before the game. "The Swarm's best attributes are their balanced scoring, tenacious defense and very good goal tending. I look forward to the challenge this weekend."

Titans Captain Casey Powell was the team leader in points with two goals and six assists. Ryan Boyle was the Titans' second leader in points, with five goals and two assists on the night.

Sean Pollock on Minnesota was the game's leader in points with six assists and three goals. Pollock scored the winning goal of the game with 35 seconds left to play in regulation.

The Titans are led by their Captain, Casey Powell, who is fourth in the National Lacrosse League in points with 47 and leads the league in assists with 35.

The Titans are on the road Sunday night in Minnesota at the Xcel Energy Center to face the Swarm again at 8PM EST. The game will be broadcast live on B2Networks via www.nytitans.com.

The Titans next home game takes place on Saturday, February 24 at 7:30PM EST at Nassau Coliseum against the San Jose Stealth. Tickets are now on sale via Ticketmaster charge-by-phone, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Nassau Coliseum box office or by logging onto www.nytitans.com.
