
Bluefish Support Save Darfur

Bridgeport, CT- JANUARY 22, 2007 The Bridgeport Bluefish, a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, announced today that Sunday, July 29, 2007, will be Save Durfur Day at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. The Bluefish have pledged 50% of the proceeds from all tickets sold for that game to Save Darfur organizations for humanitarian aid. The day will feature a parade, music and other family-friendly activities.
The team has partnered with the Connecticut Coalition to Save Darfur, which is linked to the national Save Darfur Coalition, for this event.
"We want to celebrate the people of Darfur and call attention to the crisis there," said Bill Larsen, General Manager of the Bluefish. "We hope it will inspire other sports teams to do the same."
