Majors Talk to At-Risk Children about Healthy Lifestyles

Toronto, Ont. (November 20, 2006) - The St. Michael's Majors are teaming up with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario for a special initiative. Over the next two weeks, they will be visiting at-risk children in the Greater Toronto Area to promote the benefits of a heart healthy lifestyle.

The Majors will be visiting St. Margaret's Public School tomorrow, Morse Street Junior Public School on Wednesday and Parkdale Junior & Senior Public School next Wednesday. Each visit will include a health workshop and a physical activity session. Therefore, nearly 1,200 elementary school students will receive healthy lifestyle information and tools.

The players that are taking part this week are Matt McCready, Cassidy Preston and Darrell Simich on Tuesday and Scott Baker, Matt Piva and Wayne Savage on Wednesday.

The Majors travel to Brampton for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop with the Battalion on Friday evening (November 24) before hosting the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
