Lind named to Baseball America All-Star Team

SYRACUSE (NY) - Blue Jays outfielder ADAM LIND was named to the 2006 Baseball America Minor League All-Star Team this week. Lind began the 2006 season with Double-A New Hampshire before being promoted to Syracuse where he played in 34 games.

In his 34 games for the SkyChiefs Lind hit .394 with five home runs and 18 RBI. Lind reached base in 31 of his 34 AAA games and had 12 multiple hit games. Over his last 20 games before having his contract purchased by the Blue Jays the Indiana native hit .478 (32-67) with five doubles, three home runs and 13 RBI.

The 23-year old had his contract purchased by the Blue Jays on September 1st and has appeared in 16 games for Toronto, as of September 27, hitting .390 with one home run, eight doubles, and five RBI .

Lind was named the Most Valuable Player in the Eastern League after hitting .310 with 19 home runs and 71 RBI over 91 games. When he was promoted to Syracuse Lind was leading the league in home runs and RBI and ranked second in Batting Average.

The Blue Jays 3rd round pick in the 2004 draft was also named New Hampshire's R. HOWARD WEBSTER Award Winner, as the team's MVP. With the Award Lind became just the third player in the history of the Blue Jays organization to win three or more WEBSTER AWARDS, joining infielders CARLOS DELGADO (St. Catharines - 1990, Dunedin - 1992 & Knoxville - 1993) and LUIS LOPEZ (Hagerstown - 1997, Knoxville - 1998, Syracuse - 1999 & 2001).
