NLL teams submit protected player lists

The list of players available to New York and Chicago in the Expansion Draft has now become clear. Each of the eleven returning NLL teams have submitted their lists of protected players to the league. Each team was allowed to protect a maximum of fourteen players, consisting of one goaltender and thirteen runners (forwards/defensemen), leaving at least nine players from their current 23-man roster unprotected and therefore available in the Expansion Draft. Teams also had the option of protecting two goaltenders and ten runners. Some of the notable players left available include Arizona forward Pat Maddalena, Toronto defenseman Brian Beisel, Calgary goaltender Curtis Palidwor and Colorado forward Dan Stroup. New York and Chicago can each select up to eleven players in the Expansion Draft, which takes place on Wednesday, July 12th at 4PM ET via conference call. The Chicago Shamrox will select first.
