Soul ink three as free agent signing period continues

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul acquired three free agents today, signing DS Reggie Doster, WR/DB Michael Brown and OL/DL Mike Mabry. As per club policy, terms of their deals were not disclosed. Both Doster and Brown played with head coach Bret Munsey in Orlando last season.

Doster (5'9, 185, Central Florida) will join the Soul after spending the last three seasons with the Orlando Predators. In 2005, he played in 15 games for the Predators and tallied 45.5 tackles with seven pass breakups, one interception and two fumble recoveries. In his five year career, Doster has 257.5 tackles, 6.5 tackles for losses, 40 pass breakups and four interceptions.

"Reggie is a good cover guy who was apart of a great defensive unit the last few years playing along side one of the best defensive players in the history of the League in Kenny McEntyre," Munsey said. "He is going to be a great addition to our defensive scheme here in Philadelphia."

Brown (5'10", 190, Charleston Southern) joins the Soul after spending the last two seasons with the Orlando Predators. In 2005, he played in 12 games and tallied 28 tackles with one interception. On offense, Brown caught 20 passes for 269 yards with two touchdowns and rushed the ball15 times for 63 yards with four touchdowns.

"Michael is a solid player and a good guy to coach," Munsey said. "He is a young, high energy guy who is going to be a mainstay in the defensive backfield for us."

Mabry (6'1, 295, Central Florida) comes to Philadelphia after recently going through training camp with the Atlanta Falcons. He competed at the center position before being released on the final day of camp. Prior to camp, Mabry played for the Cologne Centurions of NFL Europe for two seasons after being allocated in 2004 by the Cincinnati Bengals.

"Both myself and Coach Pat Downey have had our eyes on him for the past few years," Munsey said about Mike Mabry. "While he was with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2003 I began hearing great things about him."
