Bernie Carbo\'s Car on eBay Auction Block

The Pelicans announced today that Manager Bernie Carbo's team-issued "company car" is now for sale at auction site eBay. Now is your chance to own a great memorabilia piece from a Boston Red Sox legend.

Carbo has driven this 2002 blue four-door Dodge Stratus for the past two years. It has 77,000 highway miles, logged by Bernie Carbo himself. From Pensacola, FL to Amarillo, TX and everywhere in between, Carbo has been busy traveling tender highway miles between regular oil changes.

Bernie Carbo was a World Series hero in 1975 with the Boston Red Sox when he hit a tremendous pinch-hit homer to tie the game against the Cincinnati Reds. Bernie was the #1 draft pick in 1965 by the Cincinnati Reds and played in the big leagues from 1969 till 1980. As the Field Manager for the Pensacola Pelicans, Bernie has led the team to the playoffs for three consecutive years.

We have NOT cleaned the inside of this car so that the lucky buyer can "feel the baseball;" it will come as-is, with clay from Carbo's cleats and the memory of his sweat.

Carbo will autograph this vehicle at a location of the buyer's choice. A photograph will be taken as he autographs the buyer's new car and an autographed 8x10 of that photo will be delivered with your car as a "certificate of authenticity." The third clinic in the "Future Pelicans Clinics" will be this Saturday, March 26 at Bellview Little League in West Pensacola. The camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with registration beginning at 9 a.m. This clinic is free to all participants.
