
Bernie Carbo to Speak in Brockton, MA

Pelicans 2003 and 2004 Field Manager Bernie Carbo will be speaking at the third annual Hot Stove Banquet hosted by the Brockton Rox on Friday, January 21, 2005 in Brockton, MA. Carbo will be accompanied by former Boston Red Sox Butch Hobson.
The Brockton Rox are a member of the Can-Am League. Brockton will host the 2005 Central League vs. Can-Am League All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 19, 2005.
Butch Hobson spent 11 years with the Red Sox as a player and manager. For the past five years, Hobson has managed the Nashua Pride of the Atlantic League.
To the Red Sox faithful, Carbo is known for hitting the eighth inning two out game-tying homerun during game six of the 1975 World Series which set the stage for Carlton Fisk's famous game winning homerun in extra innings.
In addition to the two guest speakers, there will be a silent auction with items that include Carbo and Hobson autographed jerseys and a Boston Red Sox jersey signed by the complete 2004 Championship team. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
The Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series Trophy will also be on display at the banquet. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and have their picture taken with the trophy.
