
Stampede look to move up in the West

Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
The Sioux Falls Stampede continue their busy schedule with three games in three days this weekend.
On Thursday, the Herd travel down I-29 to take on their arch rivals, the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:35 PM. The Musketeers are 16-6-2 on the season and place second overall in the West Division. The Stampede are 2-1-0 this season versus the Musketeers. The Muskies are led in scoring by Tim Kennedy who has 24 points (12g, 12a) in 23 games.
On Friday, the Stampede will play host to Tri-City at the Sioux Falls Arena. Tri-City is currently three points ahead of the Stampede for third place in the West Division with a 13-9-2 record. Friday night is also "Beanie Baby Toss Night" at the arena. Stampede fans are encouraged to visit a nearby Lewis Store location and purchase any brand Beanie Baby. Immediately following the Stampede's first goal of the game, fans in the seated areas of the arena will be permitted to Toss Beanie Babies directly to the ice. The Stampede will donate all proceeds collected to area shelters for the Holidays!
On Saturday, the Stampede welcome East Division leading Cedar Rapids to the arena. The Rough Riders lead the East with a 16-3-2 record. Rob Ricci leads the team in scoring with 21
points. Game times Friday and Saturday night are 7:05 PM.
STAMPEDE TOP OMAHA AND GREEN BAY
The Stampede earned four of a possible six points over the weekend. On Wednesday, the Stampede defeated the first place Omaha Lancers 4-3 in a shootout at the Sioux Falls Arena. Andrew Carroll tallied two goals in regulation while Ryan Thang added another. After a scoreless overtime, the game went into a shootout where the Stampede outscored the Lancers 2-1 in nine-rounds. Jacob Hipp recorded the game winner in round-nine.
On Friday, the Stampede defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 3-2. The Stampede led 2-0 midway through the second period on goals by Jacob Hipp and Justin Milo. The Gamblers responded with two unanswered goals to tie the game after two periods. The Stampede took control of the game in the third when Joe Vitale notched his second goal of the season at 11:44 for the win. Greg Barrett played well between the pipes, stopping 32 shots, including 16 in the third period. The Stampede's winning streak was stopped on Saturday in Lincoln as the Stars topped the Herd 7-3. Brandon Harrington, Tom Gorowsky, and Justin White all recorded goals. The Stampede are now 12-10-1 on the season and three points back of third place Tri-City and Lincoln.
FORD, BADGERS VAULT TO FIRST
Matt Ford recorded his first collegiate goal on Saturday night in Wisconsin's 3-2 victory over Minnesota-Duluth. The Badgers swept the Bulldogs and moved into first place in the WCHA with a 9-3-0 record (12-4-0 overall)...J.B. Bittner had a goal in Ohio State's 2-1 win over Alaska-Fairbanks on Friday...Jake Luthi had a goal in RPI's 3-3 tie with Brown...Mike Doyle and Joe Jensen tallied goals in SCSU's 4-2 win over MSU-Mankato on Friday...Eric Werner had two goals in Michigan's weekend sweep of Notre Dame...Marty Sertich had a goal and an assist in Colorado College's 3-1 win over Minnesota on Friday. The Gophers got revenge, bouncing the Tigers 7-3 Saturday. Kellen Briggs made 22 saves for his 11th win of the season.
