ROCKFORD - The Rockford RiverHawks have contributed to a 2004 campaign.
The 'Hawks dealt catcher/outfielder Bobby Matthews to the Jackson Senators of the independent Central League in exchange for future considerations.
Matthews, who turned 24 on Feb. 15, had spent his entire pro career in Rockford. The La Canada, Calif. resident signed out of San Francisco State with the RiverHawks during the 2002 season.
Last year, Matthews hit .274 with a home run and 31 RBI. He was also statistically the RiverHawks' best clutch hitter, carrying an average of .361 with a home run and 29 RBI in 61 at-bats with runners in scoring position.
