
87ers Stave off Swarm, Finish Showcase 2-0

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario- The Delaware 87ers (15-10) won for the seventh time in nine games by holding off the Greensboro Swarm (8-19), 115-111, at the NBA D-League Showcase.
Richaun Holmes led all scorers with 25 points to go with seven rebounds for Delaware, which earned its third straight win. Devondrick Walker notched 23 points off the bench in 21 minutes of action, James Webb III recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds as the 87ers improved to 2-1 against the Swarm this season.
The 87ers used the third quarter to stretch their lead to 19 points before the Swarm cut the deficit to one point with just under two minutes to play in the game, but Dionte Christmas answered with a three-pointer on the ensuing possession to help secure the win
Delaware shot 24-of-44 (56.8 percent) from the field in the first half, including 6-of-10 from deep, while limiting Greensboro to 38.9 percent from the field. The 87ers scored 34 points in the paint compared to the Swarm's 22 to take a 65-53 lead heading into halftime.
Xavier Munford led the Swarm with 20 points, while Rasheed Sulaimon had 19 points, eight boards and five assists, and Aaron Harrison added 17 points and six assists in relief.
Delaware finished showcase a perfect 2-0 and next visits the Long Island Nets on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. ET. Greensboro split its two showcase games and will take on the Maine Red Claws on Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. ET.
