Rockford Thunder News Release

ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder has signed outfielder Kristen Zaleski, team General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

In 2007, Zaleski was again the team's most productive player offensively en route to her third consecutive All-NPF selection. She finished second on the team in batting average behind Jackie Wong and led the team in hits, runs and stolen bases. She finished the regular season with a perfect fielding percentage in centerfield and had five outfield assists.

Over her four-year career with the Thunder, Zaleski is team's all-time leader in eight categories, including batting average (.349), hits (209), runs (128) and stolen bases (78). In 2005, she was named the NPF MVP after hitting .468 for the season.

Zaleski, 26, will join Lindsay Gardner as the only five-year veterans on the Thunder. Originally from Temple, Texas, Zaleski went on to star at Texas State University. As a member of the Bobcats, Zaleski set 14 school records including single season batting average, career batting average and hits.

The Thunder also announced that they have re-signed outfielder Erin Evans for a fourth season and infielder Jessica Williams for a second season.

With the recent signings and not counting the college draft picks and free agents, the Thunder's roster now stands at eleven players.
