Young Mariners Get Championship Rings

March 18, 2014 - Appalachian League (ApL)
Pulaski Mariners News Release

The 2013 Pulaski Mariners received their Appalachian League championship rings in a ceremony held Saturday, March 15 at the Seattle Mariners Spring Training facility in Peoria, AZ.

Seattle's Director of Player Development, Chris Gwynn, presented the rings to the young Mariners in the team's dining hall in front of over 200 of the Seattle minor league players, coaches and staff.

"We're very proud of these young men and the way they played and in the way they conducted themselves in Pulaski." stated Gwynn "They became known as the 'comeback kids' for their ability to never give up and their belief in themselves."

The entire roster of minor league players in the Seattle farm system were present in the dining hall and video highlights of the 2013 season were shown amidst cheers and good natured jeers from the assembled group. Certainly, it was a good way to recognize the young players in front of their peers and provided inspiration to the other Mariners' players.

Now, we look forward to watching the advancement of the 2013 Pulaski Mariners toward the goal of playing in the major leagues and we will welcome the new 2014 Pulaski Mariners to Calfee Park on Thursday, June 19!
