Yellow Jackets Sign First Player, QB Warren Smith

Philadelphia's Newest Professional Football Team, The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets announce the signing of Warren Smith Jr. as the team's first player. Smith's name will now be etched into the history books becoming the franchises first Quarterback. Smith signs a Three-Year Contract with the organization.

WARREN'S HISTORY

Following a successful Collegiate Career at The University of Maine,

Warren Smith's Professional Football Career started in 2012 when he signed and started his professional career with the Dresden Monarchs. He was the League's leading passer and he led the Monarch's to a perfect (10-0) Season.

In 2013, Smith would return to the states where he signed with the Richmond Raiders of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). He would lead his team to the Championship Game, accumulating the second best record in the league.

In 2014, Smith would bring his talents back home to New Jersey, where the QB from Forked River New Jersey signed with the Trenton Freedom of The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). Smith tossed 46 Touchdowns and rushed for another 13 Touchdowns and was unanimously selected as the League MVP!

In 2015, Smith jumped to The Arena Football League, where he was assigned to the Spokane Shock. In his first (6) games with the Shock, Smith torched the defense for 32 Touchdowns, 1715 Passing Yards, 112 Rushing Yards & 5-Touchdowns and posted a Quarterback rating of 107. He was the 2015 AFL Mid Year Rookie of The Year Nominee.

"I signed with Philadelphia to win a Championship" said Smith, "I am determined to win it all with The Philadelphia Yellow jackets!"

"Today is a great day for the Philadelphia Yellow Jackets organization, stated Director of Player Personnel, Ryan Vena. "We've signed the premier QB at our level, his experience in the PIFL and AFL will pay immediate dividends, on and off the field!"

The Team is planning a Media Tour and Meet & Greet during the month of November.

Quoting his former Owner from the Philadelphia Soul, Mr. Jon Bon Jovi; "we only want players of character, not characters," said Head Coach, Mike Brown, "we will assemble a powerful group of players that the City of Philadelphia will be proud of."

In the honor and spirit of the very first professional football team to begin play in Philadelphia, the Frankford Yellow Jackets began play in the NFL back in 1924 and represented the community and this city for 7 years thru 1931. They won the NFL Championship back in 1926. Now, 85 Years later, The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets will begin play in the spirit and honor of the original, legendary team.
