Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release
Moosic, PA - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, in conjunction with the Times-Tribune, have announced the date for their second annual National Anthem Tryout to help kick off the 2010 season. The tryouts will be Saturday, March 6th at Center Court in the Mall at Steamtown, Scranton, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
It's the first community event the Yankees will hold leading up to opening day at PNC Field on April 8th and will feature some of the finest performers from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. All of them will put their best "note" forward for the opportunity to perform the National Anthem in front of the fans at PNC Field.
Whether you're an adult or child, sing solo, sing with a friend, sing with a group or choir, or play even an instrument, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees want you!
Aspiring performers are encouraged to pre-register for the event to guarantee one of the available time slots.
Fans who do not pre-register will not be guaranteed a time slot but may still be able to perform by waiting in the stand-by line. If the pre-registered performers run ahead of schedule, performers from the stand-by line will be selected.
The selection of fill-in performers from the stand-by line will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Non registered performers are advised to arrive at the mall early to secure a spot in line.
To pre-register, participants must call Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees' Director of Game Entertainment, Barry Snyder, at (570) 969-2255 ext. 3190 beginning Tuesday, February 16.
