YAKIMA, Washington (January 26, 2010), The Yakima Valley Warriors of the American Indoor Football Association is releasing its 2010 schedule for the AIFA Western Conference.
The Warriors will kick-off the 2010 season on April 3, 2010 against in state rival Wenatchee Valley Venom at the SunDome Arena on Saturday 7:15pm. The Grid Kids will play youth indoor football before every home game at the arena also. The Schedule includes seven home and seven road games. The Champion of the Western Conference will face the champion of the Eastern Conference in the AIFA Championship Bowl IV.
There will be six teams in the Western Conference this year which include the defending Western Conference Champions Wyoming Cavalry. The Warriors will be joined by the Ogden Knights(Utah), San Jose Wolves(California), Wenatchee Valley Venom(Washington),Wyoming Cavalry(Casper, WY) and the recently announced expansion franchise for Wasilla, Alaska(a suburb of Anchorage).
"The league has shown some tremendous growth in the Western Conference for 2010," said AIFA co-founder Michael Mink. "We are poised for an outstanding season as well as for future expansion in the West.
"The AIFA has a great deal of momentum right now," Mink continued. "TheKickoff Classic was a terrific success, and it was great to see several players from the West playing key roles in the game. Then, add in the new TV package with our growth on the radio side and you have a package of promotion that benefits all of our teams, particularly our new teams in the West."
