WPFL Scores in for Week Four
Published on August 22, 2004 under Women's Professional Football League (WPFL) News Release
Houston, TX - It was another week of upsets and hard nose football in the Women's Professional Football League Saturday, as the league completes week four.
In the eastern division, the Delaware Griffins stay on top as they rattle the hive and beat the Syracuse Sting, 26-6.
The game between the New York Dazzles and the Albany Ambush was cancelled due to severe weather conditions putting the game field under water. The game is set to be replayed Sunday, so we will have to wait to see if the Griffins stay at the top alone, or share the number one slot in the east with the Ambush.
In the southern division, the Dallas Diamonds stay the untarnished gem, as they take it to the Missouri Avengers, 90-0 keeping the Diamonds undefeated.
The Houston Energy took the Speed out of Indiana this week and walk away with the win, 64-6.
In the Wild West the So Cal Scorpions traveled to LA to find out that not only did they have to watch out for that Amazon defense, but they should have kept the kicker off the field too, as the Amazons get their first win of the year against the Scorpions, 3-0.
The game of the week was the Long Beach Aftershock at Arizona Caliente. The Shock made things in Arizona a little cooler defeating the Caliente 27-14, keeping the Aftershock on top of the west undefeated.
